The 'Protect Promise' fee is applicable on certain goods, such as earphones, medium-range tablets, home appliances (AC, fridge, smart TV, etc.), smartwatches, and others. Flipkart is charging ₹49 for large home appliances and high-end appliances, ₹29 for soundbars and similar accessories, ₹19 for medium-range appliances like tablets, printers, etc., and ₹9 for audio products, smartwatches, and other low-end appliances.

₹49 offer handling fee

On tablets, soundbars, and other electronics, Flipkart is charging a ₹49 offer handling fee in addition to the Protect Promise fee. For smartphones, Flipkart is charging a ₹49 offer handling fee and a ₹59 packaging fee. Laptops bought at a discount may be charged a ₹49 offer handling fee. For items or categories of items that do not have a Protect Promise fee, Flipkart charges a ₹3 platform fee.

According to Flipkart, this fee is to run the platform smoothly and improve the app experience. Along with this, you will also get the facility of 'open box delivery' which is already available.
