Indian digital content creator and fashion critic Sufi Motiwala drew eyeballs by highly condemning Pakistani actress Mawra Hocane’s wedding look.

On February 5, Pakistani actress Mawra Hocane and her husband Amir Gilani shared wedding pictures of them from the function held in Lahore on their respective Instagram handles and brought smiles across the faces of their fans and well-wishers.

These pictures did express the love for Mawra and Amir- a love saga that promises to be engraved in history.

As Mawra’s wedding pictures became the center of attention on social media, fashion enthusiasts appreciated her look. Mawra Hocane wore a beautiful outfit with simplicity on her most significant day. She wore a mint green dupatta, a light sky-blue front-open shirt, and a lehenga with a border featuring purple and bright pink accents, adding elegance to the ensemble.

For jewelry, Mawra has chosen simple pieces made of green crystal beads. These include a tika, jhoomar, small studs, and a necklace.

Mawra’s wedding look was traditional as she wore her mother-in-law’s dupatta on this special day. She posted that she wore the dupatta that her mother-in-law had worn on her wedding. The lehenga and shirt were designed by the fashion designer Ranoz Airloom, while the green-beaded jewelry belonged to Amir Gilani’s grandmother.

Although Mawra’s wedding look was highly appreciated, Indian fashion critic Sufi Motiwala posted a video on Instagram criticizing her outfit.

He said, “Mawra Hocane, popularly known as Mawra Hocane, is now married. Let’s see the wedding look of her in detail.” Then he said, “When you are living out of the world of Manish Malhotra and Sabyasachi, this happens. The fabric of Mawra’s outfit is not well-chosen, and I don’t understand the red lines on the choli. They look terrible.”

Motiwawa added, “I like only the dupatta from the entire look, but the most disappointing part for me was the clash of colors on the lehenga.”

As soon as the video was posted, social media users quickly criticized his comments. Some advised him to reconsider his opinion about the clash of colors, while others expressed frustration that he overlooked the cultural significance of Mawra’s family heirloom. Other influencers also posted videos, criticizing Sufi Motiwala’s negative remarks and calling Mawra’s wedding look one of the most beautiful.
