In every corner of India, Lord Shiva is known by many names like Mahakal, Mahadev, Mahakaleshwar, Sambhu, Natraj, Bhairav. One of them is the national level famous 'Sri Kotilingeshwar Swamy Temple' located in Kansamandra village of Kolkar, Karnataka. Many people believe that this holy temple was built around the year 1980 by Sambha Shiva idol and his wife V Rukmani. It is said that this place was initially established with five Shivalingas. Then gradually 100 Shivling, then one thousand Shivling and then in this way more than 1 crore Shivling are installed here today. By the way, let me tell you, Sambha Shiva Murthy died in 2018, since then his officials present here have been constantly establishing Shivling. It is said that Swamiji wanted to establish crores of Shivling here.

There are many beliefs about this temple but there is a lot of discussion about this temple, it is said that Lord Indra installed a Shivling at this place to get rid of the curse of Gautam Rishi. After which this place is known as Kotilingeshwar in India. It is said that any devotee who comes here can install a Shivling of his name.
For information, let us know that the height of the Shivling installed as the idol is about 108 feet. It is said that if a Shiva devotee wants to install Shivling in this temple, then he can install Shivling ranging from 1 feet to 3 feet in his name. A large crowd of devotees can be seen here during Sawan, Shivaratri. It is said that on the day of Shivaratri, the number of devotees is in millions. It is believed that tying yellow thread on the tree here fulfills the desire.
