Actor Sonu Sood has reacted to the news of an arrest warrant being issued against him by a court in Ludhiana in connection with a fraud case. The non-bailable warrant, issued by Judicial Magistrate Raman Preet Kaur, instructed Oshiwara Police Station in Mumbai to arrest the actor and present him before the court.
However, Sonu has dismissed all the allegations against him and claimed that he was only called as a witness and had no role in the case. He posted on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday to deny the claims and described the media coverage as sensational and misleading. He clarified that the information that is social media- is exaggerated, explaining that he was actually called in as a witness in a case against another party with whom he has no connection.
Sonu further stated that their lawyers have already replied to the charges against them and he would appear before the court to present his statement on February 10, 2025. He felt really disappointed that most public figures become victims of the media. In this case, he pointed out that the whole controversy was to attract unnecessary attention from the media.
He also added that he was neither a brand ambassador nor involved in any way, describing the situation as an attempt to gain attention. He expressed that public figures often become easy targets, and he would take strong legal action in this matter.
The case was filed by lawyer Rajesh Khanna from Ludhiana, who accused one Mohit Shukla of duping him of 10 lakh rupees. Sonu was to testify in this case. He was summoned multiple times by the court but did not respond, hence the court issued an arrest warrant.
On the work front, Sonu has been seen in the action-thriller Fateh, in which he made his directorial debut as well. Starring Jacqueline Fernandez, Vijay Raaz, and Naseeruddin Shah, the movie Fateh Singh had Sonu in it. The movie Fateh was produced by Zed Studios and Shakti Sagar Productions. The movie, although facing a strong competition at the box office as it released on the same day as Ram Charan and Kiara Advani’s Game Changer, fared well, and audiences loved the film for its action sequences and narrative.
