Not every movie directed and produced in Bollywood has to be a hit. Some films perform decently at the box office while others flop. However the film we are going to talk about today was a huge disaster. It failed to keep the audience engaged even for a while and did not earn as expected. Adding to this was its star-studded cast—the film featured 12 actors in key roles some of whom are among the biggest names in the industry. The movie in discussion is Jaani Dushman: Ek Anokhi Kahani.
Directed by Rajkumar Kohli the film starred Armaan Kohli Manisha Koirala Akshay Kumar Sunny Deol Sunil Shetty and Aftab Shivdasani in prominent roles. Jaani Dushman: Ek Anokhi Kahani was released on August 16 2002. Apart from these actors others who played key roles included Aditya Pancholi Arshad Warsi Sonu Nigam Raj Babbar Kiran Kumar Raza Murad Aman Verma Johnny Lever and even Amrish Puri in a cameo appearance.
The story of this film revolved around an Ichchhadhari Naag seeking revenge on those who assaulted his Naagin who had taken human birth as a young girl. However fans completely rejected the storyline and heavily criticized the film. It turned out to be a box office flop. While the movies first half was somewhat watchable due to the presence of renowned actors the second half was unbearable for the audience. Viewers refused to accept the storyline leading to the film’s massive failure.
