According to Orange County Clerk of Courts records, she was taken into custody on Jan. 5 for allegedly stealing a $330 Gucci AirPods case. She was released on bail on Jan. 6.

Before the incident, Lynda led a low-profile life in the U.S., frequently traveling for her shows while recently shifting her focus to the food business.

Born Le Quang Quy Trang Dai in Hue, Vietnam, she moved to the U.S. with her family in the late 1970s. Inspired by American actress Lynda Carter, she adopted the stage name Lynda Trang Dai and became known for her dynamic performances and bold fashion, often drawing comparisons to Madonna.

Her bold outfit choices frequently sparked discussions, though she once stated in a 2005 interview: “I love sexy outfits, but they must be elegantly sexy, not inappropriate.”

Primarily active in the U.S., she made occasional returns to Vietnam for performances, including the “Charming Vietnam Gala” in 2005 and a film project in 2012.

In later years, Lynda focused on her food business, describing her life as hectic and demanding. “Unlike my glamorous stage image and past reputation as a style icon in Vietnam’s showbiz, I’m now always hustling like a busy mother,” she once shared.

She married Vietnamese-born singer Tommy Ngo in 1996 after meeting at an event hosted by MC Nguyen Cao Ky Duyen. The couple, known for their onstage chemistry, performed popular duets and maintained a romantic image both on and off stage.
