However, often people have this question in their mind about whether the jewellery they have bought is real or fake. To deal with such questions, the Bureau of Indian Standards also launched an app in the past years. Many people do not know how to use it. Gold buyers can take the help of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS)'s 'BIS Care App'. It can help track all ISI and hallmark-certified gold and silver jewelry.

These days the gold rate is around Rs 85 thousand. In such a situation, if you are thinking of buying gold, then you should know how to identify its real and fake.

How to check whether the gold is real or fake?

Through the BIS Care app, users confirm the purity of hallmarked gold jewelry in real time. This app will be available for Android and Apple iPhone users to download from Google Play Store and Apple App Store. According to the BIS website FAQ, hallmarking of gold jewellery can be done in 6 categories which include 14K, 18K, 20K, 22K, 23K and 24K.

Through this app, the authenticity of ISI mark, hallmark and CRS registration mark on any product or item is verified. Just write the license number/HUID number/registration number showing on the product or item and all the details like manufacturer's name and address, license or registration validity, license or registration will be available.

How to use the BIS Care App

For this, first of all you have to download the app and register. Your work will be done through ISI and hallmark. Click on Verify License Details. Now you can check the authenticity of the product along with the mark.

Hallmarked jewellery items can be identified with the HUID number. HUID stands for Hallmark Unique Identification Number. Note that the six-digit HUID code need not be written on the bill. So you will get information about this code from the store where you are making the purchase.
