The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) crossed the halfway mark in early trends as counting for the 70-seat Assembly in Delhi began on Saturday, 8 February.

The incumbent Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), that had a brute majority in the national capital for a decade, was trailing in several seats, as was predicted by several exit polls published earlier this week.

"AAP and Congress Should Have Joined Hands": Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut

As vote counting for Delhi's assembly elections continues, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut, speaking to the media, alleged that "fraud in the voters' list is taking place," adding that "this 'Maharashtra pattern' is new and has now been implemented in Delhi."

He accused the Election Commission of turning a blind eye to the issue, stating, "The PM has been in Delhi for 10 years but couldn't win, so his desire to win there has led to these attempts, even though the final results are still pending."

"There is a close contest; it would have been better if AAP and Congress had come together. Yesterday, Rahul Gandhi, Supriya Sule, and I held a press conference in Delhi to address the Election Commission and the government's stance on elections," Raut was quoted as saying by PTI.

AAP Reduces the Vote Share Gap

As vote counting continues, the gap in vote share between the BJP and AAP narrows. According to the latest trends from the Election Commission, BJP holds a vote share of 48.11 percent, while AAP has 42.87 percent, reducing the gap from over 10 percent earlier to just 3 percent.

This Election is a 'Fight Between Good and Evil': Delhi CM

Speaking to the media ahead of the result announcement, Delhi Chief Minister and AAP candidate from Kalkaji, Atishi, described the assembly election as 'a fight between good and evil, work and hooliganism.'

Delhi Election Results 2025: Kejriwal Accuses EC of Withholding Booth-Wise Voting Data

Ahead of the Delhi Assembly election results, which will be declared today, AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal accused the Election Commission of withholding Form 17C, which tracks vote counts per booth.

However, the Chief Electoral Officer of Delhi denied the claims, confirming full compliance with the Conduct of Election Rules (1961) at all polling stations.

The Aam Adami Party (AAP) has managed to get endorsement to win the Assembly elections from just one pollster. Except for the pollster WePreside, which has predicted the AAP winning in the range of 46-52 seats, six others, including Chanakya, P-Marq and ABP Matrize, are sanguine for a saffron gust in the national capital.

Delhi Election Exit Polls: Axis Predicts BJP Win, CVoter Flags Gender Divide

Arvind Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is facing a defeat in Delhi Assembly elections 2025 while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to win 45-55 of the total 70 seats, if exit polls conducted by Axis My India are to be believed.

Assembly elections were held in Delhi on Wednesday, 5 February, and a voter turnout of 60.42 percent was recorded as updated till 11:30pm, the Election Commission stated in a press note.

A  released on Wednesday evening predicted a BJP victory and an exit for AAP from Delhi's Vidhan Sabha.

However Axis My India and Cvoter, known to be among leading polling agencies, released the findings of their survey a day after the elections and not on the polling day as has been the longstanding practice.

Axis My India has predicted 48 percent of votes polled in favour of the BJP, followed by 42 percent polled for AAP, 7 percent polled for the Congress and the remaining going to other parties.
