The Jharkhand government has announced bumper recruitment for teachers. More than 60 thousand teachers will be appointed in this recruitment process. In such a situation, know when and where these recruitments will come.
The Jharkhand government has announced a large-scale recruitment drive for the appointment of 60,000 teachers across the state. State School Education and Literacy Minister Ramdas Soren confirmed that this recruitment process will be started soon. This announcement was made in Golmuri during the foundation day program of Utkal Samaj.
This recruitment will be done in phases.
-26,000 teachers will be appointed through the Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test (JTET).
-10,000 teachers will be recruited specifically for regional languages.
-After this, 25,000 to 26,000 more teachers will be appointed.
Minister Soren has directed the officials to immediately resolve pending cases related to teacher appointments.
Emphasis on regional and tribal language education
The state government is giving priority to the education of tribal and regional languages in schools. Chief Minister Hemant Soren has stressed the need to include these languages in the curriculum, and this will be started in the upcoming academic session. For this, an educational studies team has already visited West Bengal, and there are plans to assess the language education model in Odisha if required.
Improvement in teacher-student ratio
To improve the teacher-student ratio, the existing rule is being amended, which has a ratio of 30-50 students for one teacher. According to the new guidelines:
-One teacher will be appointed for every 10-30 students.
-If the class size is more than 30, two teachers will be appointed.
-The Education Minister said that these changes will ease the recruitment process of regional and tribal language teachers.
Supreme Court Order: Assistant Teacher Recruitment
The announcement comes amid an important Supreme Court verdict that impacts Jharkhand Assistant Teacher Recruitment 2025. The court ruled that only JTET-qualified candidates will be eligible for selection. This decision was contrary to the earlier Jharkhand High Court order that allowed CTET and other state TET candidates to apply for 26,001 assistant teacher vacancies.
