There is going to be a strike in banks in the coming month of March. Banks will remain closed for two days. On Friday, the bank union informed that there will be a nationwide strike in government banks for two days from March 24 regarding their demands.

The strike has been called by the United Forum of Bank Unions of nine bank employee unions. UFBU demands that the vacant posts of officers and employees be filled as soon as possible.

The movement begins with a strike

A statement was issued by UFBU saying that the decision to strike has been taken after a lot of thought. After all the discussions, it has been decided that the strike will start on 24 and 25 March. Along with this, the movement will also be started.

Earlier the strike was to be held on these dates.

AIBOC General Secretary Rupam Roy says that due to the involvement of UFBU in the major components, the dates have been changed according to UFBU. Earlier AIBOC had chosen the dates of 24-25 February 2025 for the strike of banks.

Demand to withdraw the decision

There has also been a demand to withdraw the instructions issued by DFS. A decision has been taken to give incentives on the basis of performance review and performance. Which is being demanded to be withdrawn. This threatens job security. Apart from this, there can be division among the employees due to this decision.

Along with this, it is also being demanded that the limit should be made Rs 25 lakh on the basis of amendment in gratuity and settlement with the Indian Banks Association as well as to increase the tax exemption.
