Mumbai’s State Institute for Administrative Careers (SIAC) on Saturday organised a mock interview programme in two phases for candidates from Maharashtra who have cleared the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Main Examination. The initiative aims to enhance the success rate of Maharashtra’s candidates in the UPSC Civil Services Examination, said SIAC Director Dr Bhavana Patole.
The interview panel featured several eminent officials, including former Chief Secretary of Maharashtra Dr Nitin Kareer, Additional Director General of Police Vishwas Nangre Patil, Commissioner of Railway Police, Mumbai Dr Ravindra Shisve, Chief Income Tax Commissioner Jayant Zaveri, Zonal Development Commissioner (Special Economic Zone Maharashtra, Goa, Daman & Diu, Dadra & Nagar Haveli) Dnyaneshwar Patil, Director of the Atomic Department Nitin Jawale, Income Tax Department official Akshay Patil, former Indian Revenue Service (IRS) and Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Vikas Ahlawat, Indian Corporate Law Service officer and Assistant Registrar of Companies (AROC) Rujuta Bankar, and competitive examination expert Prof Bhushan Deshmukh.
A total of 22 candidates participated in the mock interviews. Dr Patole stated that the next phase of the UPSC mock interviews would be conducted online.
