On Tuesday, a sizable contingent of worshippers descended at the current Maha Kumbh Mela Kshetra to bathe in the sacred Triveni Sangam.
An Assamese devotee named Namita Das praised the government’s preparations and expressed her satisfaction with the event.
“We traveled here for the Triveni Sangam bath; we are from Assam. Everything is going well here so far. Excellent preparations have been made by the administration, and we are delighted with our experience. Speaking to ANI, Das remarked.
For the Kumbh Mela, 28 trains were run from the Southern Railway’s main towns, according to M Senthamil Selvan, CPRO, Southern Railways.
“We have operated 28 trains from the side of the South Central Railway, from major cities under the Southern Railway,” Selvan said in an interview with ANI.
He said that in order to keep an eye on the employees and personnel in charge of overseeing the railway infrastructure, three District Railway Managers (DRM) had set up camp in Prayagraj.
“To keep an eye on the employees and officials assigned to oversee the railway infrastructure, three DRMS are camping in Prayagraj. He said, “A total of 18,000 railway personnel have been deployed in total.”
The state police’s attempts to control the historic crowds at Maha Kumbh were praised by Uttar Pradesh Director General of Police (DGP) Prashant Kumar on Monday, who described the endeavor as a “Herculean task” being carried out with “unmatched dedication.”
“In spite of these obstacles, UP Police officers—from ground-level constables to senior officers—are putting in a lot of overtime, making sure traffic moves smoothly, helping pilgrims, and upholding law and order with remarkable patience and expertise. Every police officer on duty is demonstrating unparalleled passion to ensuring Maha Kumbh 2025 a safe and smooth experience for everyone, despite the fact that managing this ocean of people is a Herculean effort,” he remarked.
With over 40 crore people having already taken a holy plunge at the Sangam and millions more coming every day, DGP Kumar emphasized that Maha Kumbh is seeing the greatest human gathering in history.
“The sheer scale of this spiritual gathering has pushed the infrastructure of Prayagraj beyond its maximum capacity, making delays in traffic movement inevitable–not due to mismanagement, but due to the sheer volume of devotees,” he said.
This all-inclusive approach comes after the horrific stampede that took place during the Maha Kumbh on the occasion of Mauni Amavasya. To look into the January 29 event, authorities have traveled to Prayagraj.
The meeting point of the sacred rivers Ganga, Yamuna, and the legendary Saraswati is the site of the Maha Kumbh Mela, a major religious occasion for Hindus.
