Prayagraj: On the auspicious festival of Magh Purnima, a sizable contingent of devotees flocked to the Triveni Sangam during the current Maha Kumbh on Wednesday to take a holy bath. Over 48.83 million devotees have already taken a dive, according to government figures. On Magh Purnima, people also bathed in the sacred Saryu River near Ayodhya.
Following their ceremonial bath, many devotees went on to the Shree Ram Temple. A devotee named Monika praised the preparations.
“On Magh Purnima, we had come here for the snan. The preparations made by the government are excellent. “It’s a really pleasant experience for us,” she stated to the media.
From his office, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath saw the Magh Purnima Snan that was happening at the Sangam.
The CM sent his warmest greetings to everyone on social media X on the important occasion.
“Congratulations to all the state’s residents and devotees on the holy bathing festival Magh Purnima!” he said in an X post. Warmest regards to all of the devout followers, Kalpvasis, holy saints, and religious authorities who have gathered for a holy bath in the hallowed Triveni at Maha Kumbh-2025, Prayagraj today! By the grace of Lord Shri Hari, may everyone’s life be full of joy, wealth, and good fortune. I pray that Mother Saraswati, Mother Yamuna, and Mother Ganga grant everyone’s requests.
38.83 million pilgrims have visited the Mela grounds overall, and there are now almost 10 million Kalpwasis residing nearby.
Officials report that as of February 11, 2025, there have been about 462.5 million devotees who have conducted snan since the festival’s inception. With additional auspicious bathing dates planned in the next days, it is anticipated that the foot traffic will continue to rise as the mela goes on.
Beginning on Paush Purnima (January 13, 2025), Maha Kumbh 2025 is the biggest spiritual and cultural event in the world, drawing followers from all over the world. The spectacular extravaganza will go on till February 26th, Mahashivratri.
