In today’s era it seems like every show and film is all about intense drama high-stakes suspense or edgy storylines that grab our attention for the moment. Yet when it comes to showcasing love family and relationships it’s hard to find shows that still embody the old-school charm of timeless family films. Sooraj Barjatayas movies like Hum Saath Saath Hain and Hum Aapke Hain Koun resonated with us because they celebrated family values sacrifice and romance in ways that felt real. Bringing back the nostalgia romance and family-centric values that we cherish the iconic director known for his heartwarming family-oriented films is set to make his debut on the OTT platform with Bada Naam Karenge  The series backed by Rajshri Productions stars Ritik Ghanshani and Ayesha Kaduskar in lead roles. Their characters much like the beloved figures from Sooraj Barjatya’s films navigate the intricacies of love and family. In an exclusive interview with India.com the actors shared their experiences working with the legendary director spoke about the significance of family values in their roles and talked about their views on love especially among GenZ. A Surreal Moment When asked about their reactions to being introduced to the story Ritik Ghanshani shared It was a surreal and pinch-me moment. In fact more than for us it was surreal for our families because they have grown up watching Sooraj Barjatyas films. They have idolised the characters and wanted their son to be Prem from his movies. The actor mentioned that for him stepping into this series wasn’t just a career milestone but was a tribute to his family’s love for these iconic films. He added Personally my mom loved Shahid Kapoor from Vivah and she always wanted me to be like him - full of sanskaars and be a good boy. So it was beautiful and working with him (Sooraj Barjatya) was an experience that I would always cherish. For Ayesha Kaduskar being part of the Rajshri family was nothing short of an honour. She said It was an absolute honour to be a part of Rajshri family and legacy. Kabhi socha nahin tha ki aisa ho paayega because ek disconnect sa tha ki agar aap unki filmein dekhke bade huye hai toh aapko lagta hain ki woh ek jagah hain aur aap ek jagah. You never really think that you could actually jump in and be a part of that same family the same world he has created. So just having the pleasure and honour of doing that was beyond words. Sooraj Barjatyas Warmth On Set Both Ritik and Ayesha spoke fondly of their time working with Sooraj Barjatya describing him as one of the kindest and most humble people they have ever met. Ayesha shared Aapne agar unko dekhke kabhi socha hai na ki woh itne sweet hain toh woh usse 10 times aur sweet hain in person. Hes the softest and humble person you will ever come across in your life. I dont think unhone life mein kisi ke upar awaaz uthaai hogi. She also added that he holds a certain amount of warmth on his sets adding That was the environment on the set as well. Unhone bade hi pyaar se izzat se poora shoot khatam kara. It was one of the few sets that I can say was very very healthy. Everybody was constantly supporting each other. It was overall a beautiful set to be and it all trickles down from the main man. So because of Sooraj sir being who he is it reflects onto everyone on the set working under him. The Timeless Importance Of Family Values For both Ritik and Ayesha their roles in Bada Naam Karenge have allowed them to reflect on the importance of family values. Ritik especially spoke about how integral family is in shaping one’s identity and relationships. He said Family is something that is really important and they are the only set of people who will always stick by you in your thick and thin no matter what the situation is. Its a relationship that you make which is not a give and take relationship. Its always selfless - your feelings towards your family and theirs towards yours. Thats what we have emphasised through this series also. Rishabh and Surbhi (their characters in the show) are trying to get together but at the same time they really value their families and they dont want to hurt their families. So thats how important family values are. Gen Z & The Changing Concept Of Love The younger generation especially Gen Z is often seen as less interested in the traditional notions of love and romance. Ayesha weighed in on this shift saying Nowadays we are all very impatient. Humein sab kuch bohot jaldi chahiye. However I dont think that philosophy should apply to love and romance. Love is something that takes work and requires patience compromise and fighting for each other and your relationship. Its not something that can happen in a blink of an eye. Love ki definition completely changes nahin huyi hai. Aaj bhi hum sabko wohi cheezein chahiye jo humein aaje se 10-20 saal pehle chahiye thi. Its just that the way of acquiring it has changed. I feel like if the younger generation watches our show I hope that they are reminded of the beauty of old school romance and how some things take time but they do work out. Ritik Ghanshani further added More than finding that love aaj ka difficult hai sambhalna mil toh phir bhi jaata hain par log sambhal nahin paate hain. Aaj ki generation ki problem hi yehi hai ki hum cheezon ko kuch zaada hi for granted le jaate hai. About Bada Naam Karenge Bada Naam Karenge  is streaming on Sony LIV.
