Chiranjeevi is 'scared' of another granddaughter; wants grandson for 'legacy'

Megastar Chiranjeevi is facing backlash from netizens for his recent comments at the pre-release event of RVS Nikhil's film Brahma Anandam.

The actor said he wanted a grandson to carry on his legacy and joked about feeling like he was living in a "ladies' hostel" because of the female-dominated environment at home.

His remarks have sparked criticism online, with many calling them "regressive."

In videos doing the rounds on social media, Chiranjeevi can be heard saying, "When I'm at home, it doesn't feel like I'm surrounded by my granddaughters; it feels like I'm a ladies' hostel warden, surrounded by ladies all around."

He went on to add, "I keep wishing and telling Ram Charan, at least this time, to have a boy so that our legacy continues...I'm scared that he might again have a girl."

Chiranjeevi's comments have ignited a debate on social media platforms.

While some defended the actor, seeing his words as a "harmless joke," others were concerned that such remarks could unintentionally perpetuate gender stereotypes.
