Actor Parvathy Thiruvothu has firmly responded to questions regarding why Manju Warrier and Vidhu Vincent , two founding members of the Women in Cinema Collective (WCC), are no longer active in the organization.

Talking to The New Indian Express, Parvathy made it clear that she does not believe it is her place to comment on others' decisions.


"You should direct such questions to them. I am not the person to speak about it. I have always felt it is unfair to be asked such questions," she stated, emphasizing that the media should seek answers from those directly involved rather than those still actively working for WCC.

Parvathy further pointed out that such questions undermine the efforts of those committed to the collective. "Why are you asking me this? There is no situation where you cannot get an interview with them. But instead, you are choosing to ask the people who are working the hardest, and in doing so, we are being disrespected."

The actor also mentioned her own curiosity about their exits but reiterated that she holds no obligations to anyone regarding the matter.

On another note Parvathy and the dubbing artist Bhagyalakshmi recently had a clash over WCC dispute. During an event that happened in kozhikode, Bhagyalakshmi expressed her strong opinion on why the doors to certain women are closed in the organisation. Parvathy replied by saying, “It won’t be difficult to obtain my phone number as you know me well. Why won’t you join WCC?,” to which Bhagyalakshmi gave an apt reply, “We had discussed the issue that morning, and you had planned to meet the Chief Minister to submit the complaint. But later, I saw on TV that you went to meet him without me. When I asked about it, someone from your group mentioned that some of you didn’t want me there. Realizing that I wasn’t needed, I decided to step back from WCC.”
