Bengal presented budget

The Government of Bengal has put the last full budget of the current tenure in front. The size of this budget is Rs 3.89 lakh crore is about 44.9 billion dollars. West Bengal Finance Minister Chandima Bhattacharya has presented the state budget for 2025-26. In which important attention has been given to social welfare, rural development and infrastructure. The government has announced infrastructure and agricultural development projects at a large level in its budget. In which important funds have been allocated for rural connectivity, river erosion control and agricultural assistance initiative. On the other hand, the government has informed in the budget that the state government will increase the dearness allowance (DA) by four percent from April 1, 2025. This will make the total DA 18 percent for the state employees, which will give them a lot of relief amid rising inflation.

The budget increased by about 28 percent

The special thing is that the government has increased the budget by about 28 percent compared to last year. This increase is said to be quite big. If we look at the data, in the last financial year 2024–25, the government presented a budget of Rs 3,04,689 crore. Which has been increased to Rs 3.89 lakh crore this time. It is believed that Id bar has increased by about 85 thousand crore rupees towards the government. According to experts, this time the budget may have been increased keeping in mind the election next year. In such a situation, it will not be wrong that this year the government can make many other announcements which will give direct benefits to the people of Bengal.

Many countries are not even GDP

The special thing is that as much budget budget has been fixed by the government for the financial year 2026. There is no GDP of about 100 countries of the world. The budget of Bengal is more than $ 44.9 billion. While the total GDP of Paraguay in South America is around $ 44.9 billion in 2025. On the other hand, Libya, one of the big countries of Libya North Africa, Libya's total GDP 2024 is seeing a possible $ 44.8 billion. If the total GDP of India's neighboring country Nepal is also $ 43.7 billion. Meaning that even the GDP of many countries of the world is not able to stand in front of the one -year budget of Bengal.

Special Budget

  • Chandra Bhattacharya, Minister of State for Finance (Independent Charge) of West Bengal, presented a budget of Rs 3.89 lakh crore for the financial year 2025-26 in the Assembly on Wednesday.
  • Bhattacharya said in his speech that GSDP of West Bengal has increased by 6.8 percent in 2024-25, which is more than 6.37 percent of India's total growth rate.
  • The industrial sector recorded an increase of 7.3 per cent, which is much more than 6.2 per cent of India. Agriculture and allied sectors increased by 4.2 per cent compared to 3.8 per cent of India.
  • Bhattacharya said that by January 2025, India's unemployment rate was 7.93 per cent, while West Bengal's unemployment rate was only 4.14 per cent.
  • Bhattacharya said that the service sector was ahead with a growth rate of 7.8 percent, which is more than 7.2 percent of India.
  • Bhattacharya also said that by 2021, 92 lakh people have been taken out of poverty and now this figure is 1.72 crore.
