Aamir Khan gets a lot of praise for his craft in films. How much effort he puts in to mold himself into any character is evident after the release of the actors film in theatres. The Dangal actor is called Mr. Perfectionist of Hindi cinema because he brings one film a year and makes a lot of money at the box office.
Working with him is the dream of most Bollywood actresses. Many actresses have even said that they should get a chance to work with Aamir at least once even if it is a small role. However 90s actress Kajol has been the complete opposite of everyone. According to reports once she wanted to work in a film but as soon as she heard that the hero of the movie is Aamir Khan she immediately refused.
Why did Kajol refuse to work with Aamir Khan?
Every time Aamir Khan and Kajol have appeared together on the silver screen they have guaranteed a hit. The two superstars first worked together in the 1997 film Ishq but they were paired with different actors.
After this in the year 2000 Kajol was offered another film in which the main lead was Aamir Khan. However as soon as the actress came to know about this she flatly refused to be a part of the film.
Kajol herself had told in an old interview that she was offered Dharmesh Darshans film Mela but she refused after hearing Aamir Khan s name. Only after that this film went into the hands of Akshay Kumars wife Twinkle Khanna.
When this film was released in theatres on 17 January 2000 the audience did not accept it. The songs of the film were popular but the film flopped badly at the box office. Kajols decision of not working in this film proved right for her career.
Talking about Kajol and Aamir Khans films after the film Ishq they worked in the film Fanaa in the year 2006 in which the actress played the role of a blind woman. Made in a budget of 30 crores this film collected 105.48 crores at the box office at that time. 16 years after this film their pair appeared in the film Salaam Venky in which Aamir did a cameo.
