Rickelton became the most prolific run scorer in SA20 history, scoring 336 runs at an average of 48 and a strike-rate of 178.82 to surpass 1000 runs in the league. Nine dismissals behind the stumps were also attributed to him.

In season three, rising star Brevis reached adulthood, amassing 291 runs at a 48.5 average and 184 strike-rate. The 21-year-old hit 211 against seamers and 149 against a list of very good slow bowlers, demonstrating his equal skill against speed and spin.

Linde, on the other hand, averaged 40.24 and hit at 153.33, making a significant impact with the bat for MI Cape Town. At an economy rate of 6.29, the left-arm spinner also claimed 11 wickets at 17.72.

MI Despite being frugal throughout the tournament with economy rates of 6.53 and 6.94, respectively, Cape Town’s elite new bowling duo of Rabada and Boult saved their best effort for the Final matchup with Sunrisers Eastern Cape.

Boult’s Player of the Final performance of 2-9 increased his tournament total to 11 wickets, while Rabada’s 4-25 brought it to 12.

To fill out the starting lineup, Sunrisers and Paarl Royals each have three players, with Donovan Ferreira, an all-rounder for the Johannesburg Super Kings, being selected as the 12th man.

Rickelton is joined at the top of the order by Royals starter Lhuan-dre Pretorius, who won Batter of the Season for being the highest run scorer with 397 runs. The 18-year-old hit 16 sixes and 47 boundaries in three half-centuries.

Joe Root, the former captain of England, missed the playoffs because of international duties, but he still finished at number three with 279 runs at an average of 55.80 and a strike-rate of 140.20. In addition, he claimed five wickets. David Miller, another Royal, will join Root in the middle order. At a strike-rate of 136.84 and an average of 58.50, the left-hander hammered 234 runs.

Due to his outstanding leadership skills, which enabled his side to reach their third consecutive Betway SA20 Final, Sunrisers captain Aiden Markram was chosen as the team’s 2025 captain. In order to raise his run total to 340, the third-highest in the tournament, Markram also hit three half-centuries.

Player of the Season Marco Jansen, who also won Bowler of the Season for his 19 wickets at 18.42, leads the Sunrisers team. Richard Gleeson, an Englishman who just joined the team, completes the starting lineup.
