Two elderly women had developed strange diseases. One woman had rectovaginal fistula and the other had enterovaginal fistula. Due to enterovaginal fistula disease, an abnormal connection was formed between the intestine and the private part of the woman. Due to this, the stool of the woman was coming out through the private part (vagina). The other woman had an abnormal connection (enterovaginal fistula) between the small intestine and the private part. These women had undergone several surgeries for this disease, but were not getting relief. These women have been cured after successful surgery at Sir Gangaram Hospital in Delhi.
Doctors of Sir Ganga Ram Hospital have cured the diseases of two women with the help of cardiac occluder fistula closure used in heart surgery. This technique has brought a new hope for those patients for whom normal surgery is not successful. These patients were referred to Dr. Anil Arora and Dr. Shivam Khare, the head of the Gastroenterology Department of Ganga Ram. Dr. Anil said that the fistula was closed without major surgery through endoscopic technique. This led to quick treatment and also reduced the risk of other complications.
Cardiac occluder device was used
Dr. Shivam Khare said that this surgery was done using cardiac occluder device. This reduces the risk and patients can recover quickly. Dr. Anil Arora said that this is a big achievement in medical science. In future, many patients can benefit from this technique. After the surgery, both the women are fine and are recovering. The women expressed happiness and said that after years of suffering, they can now live a normal life. The woman suffering from enterovaginal fistula said that now after the surgery, bowel movement has become completely normal and I am thankful to the doctors for this.
Pediatric cardiologist also plays an important roleDr Anil said that the hospital's pediatric cardiologist Dr Neeraj Agarwal also played an important role in completing this surgery. He adapted the cardiac occluder device used in the treatment of heart disease for these surgeries.
