Indian Punjabi artist Diljit Dosanjh not only won hearts across India and the world but also gained a massive fan following in neighboring Pakistan, where music lovers love him a lot. Diljit Dosanjh is now one of Indian pop music’s biggest stars. It will not be wrong to say that 2024 was his year because he dominated the music industry throughout the year.
Diljit Dosanjh last year made a buzz with his concerts. As part of his Dil-Luminati Tour, he had various shows across the globe, where he had record-breaking audiences thronging his shows. He became so popular that even global stars admired him, and none other than Hollywood icon Will Smith was seen expressing admiration for the singer. While his shows were sold out within minutes worldwide, with people lining up to experience his dynamic shows, his Pakistani fans could do nothing but look on from afar, hoping to see him perform live.
Interestingly enough, the love is reciprocated—Diljit Dosanjh has never hesitated to shower Pakistan with affection. A classic example was when he welcomed the Pakistani flag on stage during one of his shows, winning over the hearts of the fans on the other side of the border. Diljit’s Pakistani fans have waited years to finally get a chance to see and hear him perform live. Now, the singer himself has provided them with a reason to rejoice with a piece of heart-stopping news.
Globally, Diljit is in contact with his global fans on social media, keeping them regularly posted in a conversation format. Recently, during an online session on photo and video-sharing app Instagram, Diljit Dosanjh responded to his Pakistani fans’ burning question: When will you come to Pakistan?
In response, Diljit offered to volunteer with zest: “I definitely have to go to Pakistan! I will surely go to Pakistan. I will go to Pakistan, but it is just not in my hands at the moment.” He then glanced at a fellow standing beside him and made a gesture toward something hopeful, saying, “I had planned two surprises,” but immediately placed his finger on his lips, gesturing toward secrecy, and went on, “Now I’ll stay mum.”
This Diljit video announcing his desire to visit Pakistan has become a social media sensation, creating buzz among his supporters. While he did not reveal the nature of surprises in store, many of his Pakistani supporters are speculating whether he might be planning to perform in Pakistan as part of the celebrations of the ICC Champions Trophy.
