Commute of the future, the Green Hydrogen Bus has become quite a star at #IndiaEnergyWeek2025 @IndiaEnergyWeek @PetroleumMin pic.twitter.com/1Y47vTVM9X
Increasing hydrogen production is also India's goal.
Let us tell you that in this year's Energy Week, Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri rode a hydrogen bus with foreign delicates, on this, when he was asked that in how much time hydrogen buses will start running on the roads of India, in response to this he said, "For this we will have to bring down the price of green hydrogen per kg at the international level. For this, the central government is working on many scales. Production will increase with the reduction in price and then instead of importing energy worth $ 150 billion, we will produce our own green hydrogen. By 2030, our goal is to increase its production to 5 million metric tons and I think we will achieve that goal and then increase the target further. "
When asked about 4G ethanol plants in India, the Union Minister said, "First 2G plants were set up to make ethanol from stubble, then plants were set up in the North East to make ethanol from bamboo, 3G has industrial gases. Technical upgradation work is being done on this gradually.''
On being asked about the future of clean cooking, he said, ''When PM Modi took charge, there were 14 crore LPG connections, which have increased to 33 crore today. India's population is 140 crore and if there are 4 people in a family, then 33 crore means that the entire 140 crore are covered. Pipe gas is 20-25 percent cheaper, so we are bringing that too. We have brought the length of pipe gas from 14 thousand kilometers to 22 thousand kilometers and will take it further to 33 thousand kilometers. He said that the beneficiaries of Ujjwala Yojana are getting cooking medium for Rs 6, while those who are not its beneficiaries are also getting cooking medium for Rs 15-17. There is no such cheap cooking medium anywhere in the world.''
