If you love WhatsApp you might want to watch out for an update launching today. The Meta-owned chat app has confirmed the release of a new feature that - it says - users have been requesting.
"You asked for it. Here it is!" said in an email sent to Online.
So what's new?
WhatsApp has confirmed that it is finally introducing something called chat themes. This basically lets you make your chats more unique with simple ways to switch up the colourful chat bubbles and add new wallpapers.
Once the update arrives on your phone, you'll be able to head to the settings menu and change your chat bubbles and background to any colour you fancy rather than being stuck with WhatsApp's famous green shade.

You can also pick from one of WhatsApp's pre-set chat themes, which changes your background and bubbles, or mix and match colours depending on your mood.
You can apply the same theme to all your chats, or make each one special with different themes.
Along with new Chat Themes, WhatsApp has also added new wallpapers as well. In fact, there are now 30 refreshed options to choose from.
Of course, you can still add your own backgrounds via the camera roll if that's your preference.
To change the theme of all your chats and channels, go to Settings > Chats > Default chat theme. To customize each chat individually, click the chat name at the top of the chat screen (on iOS), or click the 3-dot menu (on Android) > Chat theme.
These features are now starting to roll out, and will be available globally over the coming weeks.
