Potato Tuk: A spicy Sindhi Snack Recipe

Aloo tuk is a popular Sindhi snack, which is made by frying potatoes and mixing with various spices. The dish is also a favorite of Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor, who has mentioned Sindhi Krash and Aloo Tuk in her favorite food many times. If you have craving of spicy snacks, this recipe is perfect for you. Let's know the easy way to make potato pieces.

Ingredients to make potato pieces:

  • 7-8 big potatoes or 12-15 small potatoes
  • Frying oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Pompous powder
  • 1.5 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1.5 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon chaat masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon mango powder
  • 2-3 green chillies (optional)
  • Fresh green coriander
  • 1/2 lemon

Method of making potato pieces:

  1. Prepare potatoes: If you are using large potatoes, wash them and peel them and cut them into thick round pieces. Wash and boil small potatoes thoroughly. When they boil 90%, flatten them with the help of hands or glass.

  2. Frying process: Heat oil in a pan. Keep in mind that the heat should be medium and the oil is not very hot. Now add potatoes to it and cook for 5-7 minutes. When the potatoes are cooked from the inside, take them out of the oil and keep them in a plate.

  3. Double frying (optional): If you have used large potatoes and fry directly, you can fry them again by pressing them with a bowl or glass. When the potatoes become crisp and golden, take them out.

  4. Add spices: Now add all the spices to these potatoes and mix well. Also, mix green chillies and lemon juice and mix well.

  5. Decoration and serving: Decorate with fresh green coriander and enjoy potato pieces.
