Working in Bollywood and making people go gaga over their movies is always an actors dream. While many achieve it others struggle to fulfill the dream and numerous fail to do so. Pratik Gandhi was born in Surat to parents who were teachers but later the family moved to Mumbai. After his college days Pratik started his career with plays. During his initial days he stayed in a single room with five of his family members. In an interview with Humans of Bombay Pratik revealed that he initially arrived in Mumbai after graduation but went months without earning any money because he was unable to find employment. To sustain himself he did odd jobs such as installing TV towers cleaning water tanks and even selling cockroach-repellent creams. Later he worked as a consultant engineer at the National Productivity Council (NPC) for the first four years. There were some medical emergencies at home be it my wifes brain tumor operation or my fathers cancer. Eventually we lost him in 2018. Buying a house in Mumbai is a big deal. Even after a decade of being in Mumbai there was a time when we didnt have a house. Suddenly the whole family was homeless. From 2008 to 2016 Pratik worked as an industrial engineer at Reliance. Even during these years he continued doing theatre and performed in 12-15 plays.
