IT services major Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) a Tata Group company led by Noel Tata has announced a major policy change. According to several media reports TCS has strengthened its attendance rules and revised its work-from-home policy. These changes will require adjustments in personal emergency days entry deadlines and backend processes.
Employees are allowed to take up to six personal emergency days every three months. Any unused days can be carried over to the next quarter. Due to space constraints employees can submit up to 30 requests in a single entry reported Punjab Kesari. If there are network issues they can attempt to log in a maximum of five times at once. Requests not submitted within 10 days will be automatically rejected. Backdated entries are permitted only for the last two working days. For missing work-from-home entries employees can apply until the 5th of the following month.
TCS has enforced a five-day-a-week attendance policy setting it apart from other IT companies which typically follow a three-day-a-week model.
TCS HR Head Milind Lakkad has stressed the importance of creating a supportive work environment where employees can work happily together stay motivated and remain fully engaged in their tasks.
