February 22, New Delhi In Friday’s Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 match at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, the Mumbai Indians defeated the reigning champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru in an exciting final over thanks to all-rounder Amanjot Kaur’s undefeated 34 off 27, which was adorned with two sixes and several fours.

After returning with figures of 3-22 in three overs, Amanjot was named Player of the Match, demonstrating that her efforts were not overlooked. The teenage player was commended by former India captain Mithali Raj for leading MI across the finish line and displaying poise and confidence under duress.

“It provides confidence to have a set hitter like Amanjot Kaur, who has performed so brilliantly and smacked those two sixes. Mithali said on Amul Cricket Live, JioHotstar, “And with a 16-year-old out there, what a platform for Kamalini Gunalan to come in and score the winning runs in her first season with Mumbai Indians.”

She backed herself today, I believe. She has witnessed and learned from her captain’s huge strokes as someone who played in the middle with Harmanpreet Kaur. She continued, “I wanted to finish it for the Mumbai Indians.”

G Kamalini (11 not out), the U19 T20 World Cup winner, helped Amanjot lead the team to victory by four wickets.

The MI skipper Harmanpreet Kaur and Nat Sciver-Brunt laid the groundwork for their 169 chase with innings of 50 and 42, respectively. In the end, Amanjot and Kamalini put the finishing touches on their innings.

“It’s difficult to put into words how thrilled I feel. I was aware that I could support my strengths if an offspinner came to bowl. since of my favorable matchup, I knew I had to remain until the very end and make sure the 19th over went huge since Kanika and I play for the same domestic team. My job with the ball is to bowl the variations and from stump to stump. After the game, Amanjot expressed gratitude and blessings.
