Alec Baldwin suffers from a little-known medical condition as his wife has admitted that it is 'getting worse'.
The actor has previously hinted at his struggle with obsessive compulsive disorder, or OCD, as far back as 2005. However, talking about it while appearing on the Ellen DeGeneres Show, he described it as self-diagnosed.
At that time, the TV host very much played the discussion for laughs. However, according to his wife Hilaria, on the married couple's new reality show The Baldwins, he has since received a formal diagnosis. Hilaria originally revealed this developments as the couple discussed their life together on the What's One More podcast.

Alec, famed for his role on 30 Rock, praised comedian Howie Mandel, who also suffers from OCD and has spoken publicly about how he deals with it on many occasions.
Alec said: "OCD is something I personally struggle with. I’m grateful to Howie for opening up at a time when few people were talking about this publicly, and there was even more of a stigma about OCD and mental health than there is today. It’s through empathy, understanding, and being kinder to one another that we can finally remove the stigma and change the narrative."
In the first episode of their new reality series The Baldwins, Hilaria shares that her husband's OCD manifests itself in many different ways. She says: “He wants the shoes lined up a certain way and the toys over here and this stacked on top of here. And you see the rituals that people who have OCD that they actually have to re-put these things in a certain way.”
This is followed by footage of the Emmy winning actor tidying and organising items around the house. This includes toys, clothes and other belongings of he and Hilaria's seven children. Many of them appear to be lined up in a specific order. In fact it is something his children are very aware of.
As they speak to the camera, Carmen, 10, says: "My dad is very funny and he's very caring." Another quickly follows up with: "And he's very OCD." Alec then admits that having so many children is like "constant attacks on the tidiness problem."
Near the end of the premiere episode of The Baldwins, as Alec is asked to get a drink for his wife, he is distracted by reorganising a shelf in his freezer. Hilaria admits that these compulsions increased in the lead up to her husband's involuntary manslaughter trial following the death of Halyna Hutchins on the set of Rust. The case against him has since been dismissed.
She says: "A lot of the ways that he tries to control and the way that he behaves has to do with his OCD . . .Since Alec’s trial in New Mexico is coming up, it has become so much worse."
She goes on to say that OCD has not been the only diagnosis her husband has received in recent years since the incident. She admits: "Everybody that has been close to Alec has seen his mental health decline. He was diagnosed with PTSD. And he says in his darkest moments, if an accident had to have happened this day, why am I still here? Why couldn't it have been me?"
The Baldwins is streaming weekly on Discovery+ from February 24.
