In 1992, Shah Rukh Khan made his debut with the film Deewana. The movie did not bring much fame. However, in the following year, SRK featured in a super hit film, Baazigar. When other actors were hesitant to do a negative role in Baazigar, SRK took the risk, and it paid off. The actor became an overnight sensation.
Despite the stardom, srk did give some not-SO-Hit Films Such as Deewana, Dil Aashna Hai, Chamatkar, Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman, And Guddu. His real breakthrough was dilwale dulhania le jayenge.
However, before shooting for DDLJ, Shah Rukh Khan was a part of a film called Guddu, where he played the character of Guddu Bahadur, the son of a rich family. The film was not a hit, but it fetched the actor the money he wanted, and as a result, SRK was able to buy his first apartment in Mumbai, which as per reports was worth Rs 40 lakhs. With that, the actor never looked back and climbed the ladder of success. Later, he bought the iconic Mumbai house—Mannat at Bandra Bandstand.
Guddu was made for Rs 2 crore, and it earned Rs 4.5 crore at the box office.
