The is set to launch a brand new psychological thriller filmed in south Wales, centred around the hunt for a murderer in a small town.

The One That Got Away features Welsh actors Elen Rhys, known for her role in The Mallorca Files, as DI Ffion Lloyd, and Richard Harrington from Hinterland as DS Rick Sheldon.

The plot revolves around former lovers Ffion and Rick who must collaborate to solve the murder of a nurse in a Welsh coastal town.

Their investigation is complicated by their romantic past and the impact of the murder on the community.

The crime eerily mirrors a case from over ten years ago, leading the detectives to question a historical conviction and speculate that there may be a potential copycat killer on the loose.

Catherine Tregenna, known for writing episodes of Law & Order UK, Doctor Who and its spin-off series Torchwood, penned the show.

Actor Elen Rhys, who is originally from Aberystwyth, expressed her delight at returning to Wales for the filming: "Coming home to Wales to film was a joy-immersing myself in everything Welsh. The talented, close-knit crew worked together so well, making it a truly lovely and extraordinary experience. I felt so lucky.

"Catherine Tregenna's writing blew me away. It's not your typical crime drama; it goes much deeper. I love that there are no heroes, the characters are complex, damaged, and human; everyone is as flawed as the next. It's so 'true' to life. To me, it's a drama about what it means to be human."

The One That Got Away was shot on location in South Wales, including Pembroke Dock. It's an English language adaptation of the Welsh-language drama Cleddau, an original series produced for S4C, consisting of six one-hour episodes.

Joining the cast are Rhian Blythe, recognised for her role in Gwaith/Cartref, Sule Rimi from Day of the Jackal, and Ian Puleston-Davies, famed for his time on .

The premiere episode of The One That Got Away will broadcast on One Wales at 9:10pm, on February 25. Viewers outside of Wales will be able to catch all episodes on iPlayer.
