Till now, Delhiites used to get free electricity and water, but now Delhi MCD is going to waive the house tax of the residents. After the formation of the Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi in 2013, up to 200 units of free electricity and 20 20,000 liters of water were free. After this gift, the Kejriwal government ruled Delhi for 10 years.
In the recently held assembly elections, BJP has won in Delhi, after which Rekha Gupta has been made the Chief Minister of Delhi. At the same time, there is currently an AAP government in Delhi MCD. In such a situation, now the people of Delhi are going to get relief in house tax.
Whose House Tax will be waived?
AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh announced on Monday that the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) is going to start waiving house tax. He said that for those who will pay the outstanding house tax of 2024-25, all their previous outstanding house tax will be waived. During this, MCD Mayor Mahesh Khinchi, Deputy Mayor Ravinder Bhardwaj, and Leader of the House Mukesh Goyal were also present.
50 and 25 percent house tax will be waived
Apart from this, those whose house size is between 100 to 500 square yards will get 50 percent house tax relief. Along with this, those whose house is in a residential apartment of 1,300 yards will get 25 percent house tax relief. Let us tell you that earlier, people living in apartments did not get any relief.
Mayor Mahesh Khinchi emphasized that this step is in line with AAP's commitment to public welfare. He said, "We have fulfilled what AAP had promised. We have already confirmed 12,000 MCD employees as permanent employees, and we will officially implement this decision in the MCD House meeting to be held on the 25th."
