To feature amongst the best wingers in LaLiga in the rankings below, players must have appeared in at least eight of their last 15 eligible fixtures. That includes league and European games, and where relevant international matches, but domestic cup fixtures are not scored.
Players must have started the majority of their matches this season as a winger, wide forward or wide midfielder to feature. We have separate rankings for the best LaLiga strikers and top 10 LaLiga central midfielders.
While younger brother Nico made headlines last summer with his star performances at Euro 2024, Iñaki has been the more impactful of the Williams bros during the 2024/25 season.
The Ghana international has excelled on the right flank for a strong Athletic side that is pushing for the top four under Ernesto Valverde. Iñaki has registered five goals and eight assists in 24 appearances in LaLiga this term, with only Barcelona wonderkid Lamine Yamal creating more goals.
At 30 years old, Iñaki should still have a few more seasons at the top level and looks destined to end his career as a one-club man and one of the most important figures in Athletic’s modern history.
Still going strong at 37, Iago Aspas remains integral to everything that Celta Vigo do. The Galician is already an iconic figure at his local club and the only question is how long he can keep on going for.
His performance levels this season have remained high. Mostly operating just off or to the right of the main striker, Aspas has chipped in with eight league goals at a rate of one every 158 minutes. He’s on course to better last season’s nine-goal return and hit double figures for goals in the Spanish top flight for the 10th time.
With age, Aspas has adapted his game to be more of a creative influence too, and he averages 1.3 key passes per game this term.
At 17, Lamine Yamal is already one of the best LaLiga wingers. In terms of his creative output, there’s arguably no one better in the world, with the teenager registering 19 assists for club and country since the start of Euro 2024.
Yamal announced his arrival to a global audience as a 16-year-old with a brilliant goal against France in the semi-final of that tournament. He has only gone from strength to strength since, with his ability to influence games and show more composure in front of goal only growing since Hansi Flick’s appointment at Barcelona.
With so much time to grow and develop further, it’s hard not to get excited about Lamine Yamal. Barca fans certainly believe they have a future Ballon D’Or winner at their disposal and if he can avoid serious injuries, the sky’s the limit for the young winger.
Another of the best LaLiga right wingers is Rodrygo. In truth, the Brazilian would rather be operating off the left where he could cut onto his stronger right foot, but the presence of compatriot Vinicius Junior in this Real Madrid side means he’s invariably used on the right flank by Carlo Ancelotti.
That puts him at odds with the other dominant wingers of this era, who are almost exclusively inverted wingers, but Rodrygo’s contributions have still been very impressive.
The 24-year-old has scored some vital Champions League goals in recent years that have kept Los Blancos on course for European glory. This season, he has taken on greater responsibility from set-piece situations and he’s averaging 2.0 shots, 2.0 key passes and 1.5 dribbles per game in LaLiga.
The best winger in LaLiga right now is Raphinha and few could argue that his form this season doesn’t make him worthy of that tag. Arguably the best player in LaLiga overall in the 2024/25 season, it has been an extraordinary change of fortunes for the ex-Leeds man who was frequently linked with an exit last summer.
Operating on the left flank, he has formed a destructive front three with Yamal and Robert Lewandowski at Barcelona. Already on 24 goals in all competitions for Barca this term, the 28-year-old is having the season of his life and has firmly silenced the critics who suggested the club needed an upgrade in his position.
His overall tally of 12 goal contributions (eight goals and four assists) was the highest of any player involved in the league phase of the 2024/25 Champions League.
Ranking | Player | Club | L15 score |
1 | Raphinha | Barcelona | 71.9 |
2 | Rodrygo | Real Madrid | 69.5 |
3 | Lamine Yamal | Barcelona | 67.4 |
4 | Iago Aspas | Celta Vigo | 62.5 |
5 | Iñaki Williams | Athletic Club | 59.6 |
6 | Danny | Leganes | 58.8 |
7 | Dodi Lukebaki | Sevilla | 58.2 |
8 | Alex Baena | Villarreal | 57.1 |
9 | Nico Williams | Athletic Club | 56.4 |
10 | Vinicius junior | Real Madrid | 56.1 |
Dani Raba of Leganes is a slightly surprising inclusion in sixth place, but the 29-year-old Spaniard has chipped in with some important contributions for his struggling side in recent months. He has mostly operated as either a right winger or on the right of a front two for Borja Jimenez’s side.
Meanwhile, Dodi Lukebakio has largely carried Sevilla in terms of their attacking threat this term. The Belgian has scored some memorable goals to take his tally to 10 in LaLiga, 34% of his team’s total.
The top 10 is completed by three of the best LaLiga left wingers and left-sided midfielders.
Villarreal’s Alex Baena has been the division’s undisputed assist king, setting up a league high 21 goals since the start of the 2023/24 season.
Nico Williams has also shown signs that he may be getting back to his best form in recent weeks, with three goals and two assists in his last three Athletic appearances.
Vinicius Junior rounds off the top 10. While the Brazilian would ordinarily be much higher up this list, he has perhaps had to sacrifice himself a little, to accommodate and serve the prolific Kylian Mbappe as Ancelotti searches for the winning formula in the white half of Madrid.
