Vicky Kaushals latest film Chhaava is setting new records with its earnings. The film is currently dominating at the box office. While Chhaava is making headlines for its impressive run The film has now become a part of multiple controversies. Helmed by Laxman Utekar he is currently on the hot set. The film sparked a new controversy where it has now been accused of tampering with history and not presenting their ancestors correctly. Along with this there has also been a threat of filing a Rs 100 crore defamation lawsuit.
In response to the defamation lawsuit filed against director Laxman Utekar he issued a public apology. The film Chhava is a biopic of the great ruler Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. Peoples eyes were on this film from the very beginning. Initially there was a protest against some dance sequences in the film after which the makers took immediate action and took down objectionable scenes. Now the descendants of two special characters of this film Ganoji Shirke and Kanhoji Shirke have alleged that the image of their warriors characters has been tampered with in Vickys film and an attempt has been made to show history in a wrong way.
Laxmikant Raje Shirke the 13th descendant of Ganoji and Kanhoji Shirke has threatened to file a defamation suit of Rs 100 crore. The makers have also reacted to this. As soon as the films director Laxman Utekar came to know about this he immediately met the family members of Ganoji Shirke and Kanhoji Shikre and apologised.
Laxman Utekar apologised for this new controversy related to the film Chhava and said- We have mentioned only the names of Ganoji and Kanhoji Shirke in the film Chhava. We have not even used their surnames. Also we have taken care not to mention the villages of both of them anywhere in the film. Our intention was never to hurt the Shirke family. If anyone has suffered any kind of pain due to Chhava then I want to apologize with all sincerity. Talking about the film Chhava has earned Rs 444.50 crore worldwide in 10 days of its release.
