Former Union rail minister Lalu Prasad was called before a Delhi court on Tuesday in relation to the “scam” of land-for-jobs.
Additionally, Prasad’s daughter Hema Yadav and son Tej Pratap Yadav, a former Bihar minister, were called by Special Judge Vishal Gogne.
Tejashwi Yadav, the younger son of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo and a former deputy chief minister of Bihar, received further summonses from the court.
The defendant has been ordered to show up in court on March 11.
According to officials, the case concerns Group D appointments made in the West Central Zone of the Indian Railways, which is headquartered in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, during Prasad’s time as Union rail minister from 2004 to 2009 in exchange for land parcels that the recruits gave or transferred in the name of the RJD supremo’s relatives or associates.
On May 18, 2022, a complaint was filed against Prasad and a number of other people, including his wife, two children, unnamed governmental servants, and private citizens.
