Citing Chinese media outlet 163, Znews reported that Wang and his current wife Mandy Ma noticed the children’s condition and immediately sought medical attention at Taipei Children’s Hospital.

According to India Timesa leaked message from a nurse at the hospital then indicated that the children underwent 18 hours of intravenous treatment to reduce their fevers, which were accompanied by severe coughs. Hospital surveillance footage also captured Wang at his children’s bedside for over 18 hours, during which he meticulously recorded their symptoms and brought a humidifier to the room at 3 a.m. to alleviate their discomfort.

The situation has sparked criticism on social media platforms, where users questioned the attentiveness of Hsu’s mother Huang Chun Mei and sister Dee Hsu to the children’s well-being.

“Dee Hsu always says she loves her sister, and Huang Chun Mei lives off her daughter,” commented a social media user. “So why did no one care for the children when Barbie Hsu passed away?”

This scrutiny follows previous controversies when Dee Hsu and her children wore tightly-fitted masks after Hsu’s death from pneumonia complications at age 49, while Hsu’s two children wore standard masks.

Hsu is renowned for her roles in popular dramas like “Meteor Garden,” “Mars,” and “Summer’s Desire.”

She married Wang in 2011 and filed for divorce in 2021 due to “irreconcilable differences.”

Upon learning about her divorce, Hsu’s ex-boyfriend, 55-year-old South Korean musician DJ Koo, reconnected with her, and they rekindled their relationship, marrying in Feb. 2022.

Wang registered his marriage to 26-year-old Ma in May 2024.
