ended his lean patch with the bat when he scored a fantastic century to guide India to a comfortable win against Pakistan in the Champions Trophy on Sunday, February 23. Lalchand Rajput hailed Virat Kohli's epic knock against the Men in Green at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium as a reminder of his 'big match' prowess.
Kohli came into the tournament after a disappointing outing against Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. He perished for 22 in India's first game in the Champions Trophy against Bangladesh. However, he didn't throw away his wicket after getting off to a good start against Pakistan and eventually remained unbeaten on 100 off 111 balls, bringing up a record-extending 51st ODI century. He helped the Men in Blue chase down a 243-run target with 45 balls to spare.
"I think Virat played a fantastic innings, you know, and he showed his class. We always think of King Kohli, I think he proved again. Big match, big match temperament. Big match player," Rajput was quoted as saying by India Today.
