Mahashivratri 2025: Maati Se Bandhi Dor Actress Shubhi Sharma says, 'Being a transgender I feel connected with Lord Shiva's Ardhanarishvara form'

Mahashivratri is a time of deep devotion, celebrated with faith and joy. Transgender actress Shubhi Sharma , who was last seen in the TV show 'Maati Se Bandhi Dor' highlights the importance of Ardhanarishvara form of Lord Shiva in their community.

She said, "I'm a huge admirer of lord shiva. Being a transgender I feel connected with the deity Lord Shiva, particularly in his Ardhanarishvara form (half male, half female). He is often seen as a symbol of inclusivity and acceptance for transgender individuals, as it embodies the merging of masculine and feminine energies within a single being, representing the idea that gender is not strictly binary, this makes Shiva a significant figure for the transgender community in our country."


Talking about her celebration of this sacred festival she continued, "Maha Shivratri is a sacred festival dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is a day of fasting, meditation, and prayer, believed to bring spiritual growth and inner strength. As a part of celebration I observe night-long vigils, chant and listen to mantras, and offer prayers to seek blessings for peace, success, and well-being. I also observe fast, performing several rituals, and offering specific items dedicated to the Lord to praise his supreme power."

Shubhi, who has appeared in shows like 'Prem Leela' and 'Dhruv Tara' concluded adding the importance of celebrating the festival honoured to Lord Shiva.


She shared, "Shivratri, especially the stories and legends related to Mahashivratri teach crucial aspects of life and lessons that help in leading a soulfully happy life. It teaches about the importance of Mahashivratri and the following life lessons such as selfless service, sacrifice, spiritual awakening, divine love, humility and power of devotion. All these aspects help in maintaining the right balance in life and its need to prevent destruction and preserve creation. Worshipping Lord Shiva on Mahashivratri also helps build strength and inner power in followers. They learn to stay strong when facing challenges in life."

On the work front, Shubhi is known for her acting in the TV show 'Aaina-Roop Nahi Haqikat Bhi Dikhaye', She earned immense popularity for playing the role of Chanda in 'Chand Jalne Laga', and is also known for featuring in shows like 'Saath Nibhaana Saathiya', 'Mann Kee Awaaz Pratigya 2', 'Saavi Ki Savaari', 'Nath', 'Ishq Ki Dastaan - Naagmani' among others.
