Navi Mumbai: Residents of Sector 36, Kamothe, have raised concerns over the deteriorated state of footpaths and broken chambers near Nirmala Society. Several complaints had been lodged by locals regarding these hazardous conditions, prompting a formal request to Panvel Municipal Corporation authorities.
Over 10 odd residential societies in the area have repeatedly raised their concerns about the dangers posed due to the broken infrastructure. “ There is always the fear that someone will fall into the gutters due to the damaged chamber covers or suffer injuries while walking through the footpath,” said a resident.
Subsequently , a delegation of residents met with the Panvel Municipal corporation's ward officer and submitted an appeal urging immediate repairs to the damaged footpaths and chambers to prevent inconvenience and ensure public safety.
Additionally, a letter was submitted demanding the installation of additional speed breakers on various roads across Kamothe to enhance traffic safety. Acknowledging the grievances," The ward officer has assured us about taking , and the matter would be followed up with the concerned department to expedite the necessary repairs," said the resident.
Present during the meeting were Sector 36 residents Dinesh Kariya, Jijo, and Rohit Chaudhary, who actively voiced their concerns on behalf of the local community.
