RCB-W vs. GG-W, WPL 2025: On Thursday, February 27, at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, the Gujarat Giants women beat the Royal Challengers Bengaluru women by a margin of six wickets in the Women’s Premier League 2025 match 12.

Gujarat secured just their second victory of the season after chasing down the 126-run mark in only 16.3 overs. After five games, they currently have four points.

Ashleigh Gardner, the captain, put on another outstanding batting display and hit her second fifty of the season against RCB. On the strength of three sixes and six fours, Gardner scored 58 runs in only 31 balls.

Dayalan Hemalatha (11) and Beth Mooney (17) left cheaply as GG lost their first two wickets in the powerplay while chasing the mark. Harleen Deol only scored five runs as well.

With a 51-run partnership for the fourth wicket, captain Gardner and Phoebe Litchfield made the comeback. Litchfield hit three fours and a six in her undefeated and vital innings of 30 runs in only 21 balls.

“Undoubtedly, we haven’t batted as well as we would have in the past few games, but today’s bowlers deserve praise. We were given the leeway to chase a modest score when our bowlers stepped up. Although we definitely should have won the first game since we were unable to defend a score of 20,0, today’s victory was satisfying. Winning the game and spreading the good vibes was pleasant. After winning Player of the Match, Gardner said, “It’s nice to not have much dew here; it’s a trend of the WPL (on chasing) at the moment.”

Tanuja Kanwar and Deandra Dottin both claimed two wickets as part of GG’s outstanding bowling performance earlier, which held the host team to 125/7 in their 20 overs. Captain Gardner and Kashvee Gardner also claimed one wicket apiece.

With a score of 33 runs, Kanika Ahuja led the hosts in scoring, while Raghvi Bist (22) and Georgia Wareham (20) also made minor contributions.
