Boatmen are honored by Yogi; post-registration cash and insurance are supplied

He drew a historical analogy, saying that today’s boatmen carry on the legacy of Nishadraj helping Lord Shri Ram cross the Ganges during the Treta Yuga.

Under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana, he emphasized that the double-engine government is dedicated to the welfare of individuals involved in fishing. A special program under the Chief Minister’s Fund will provide boats, guaranteeing that each boatman is registered and has security insurance.

Furthermore, boat operators would get disaster help under the Kisan Aapda Yojana, which is comparable to the Mukhyamantri Krishak Durghatna Bima Yojana and provides Rs 5 lakh in financial relief in the event of an unlucky incident. Those without health insurance will get Rs 5 lakh health cover and be connected to the Ayushman Bharat Yojana.

Additionally, specialized instruction will improve their abilities and guarantee that they get exceptional advantages. The government’s determination to empower the boatmen and Nishad community, protect their past, and ensure their future is reaffirmed by these actions.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasized the boatmen’s historic contribution to the Mahakumbh, saying that their unwavering efforts allowed crores of devotees to take a sacred bath at Sangam. He said that each boatman must have worked hard for lakhs of rupees in these forty-five days, which is an unparalleled amount of money. He did, however, stress that this was a continuance of a revered familial heritage rather than just an economic opportunity.

In addition, CM Yogi praised the irrigation department, pointing out that Sangam had not seen such a high water level on such a huge scale in many years. He called it a historic milestone in making the Maha Kumbh big and heavenly and commended the authorities and workers for their commitment.
