Team India 2 and Team UK played in the inaugural Galaxy Cup semifinal on Day 4 of the HPRC World Arena Polo Championship. Team UK advanced to the final with a hands-off victory.
An action-packed contest began when Team UK was given a goal at the beginning of the game. It was an exciting and high-scoring match, with 16 goals scored in only two chukkers.
In the first chukker, Team India scored eight goals, demonstrating remarkable talent and collaboration, whereas Team UK only scored twice.
Team UK came out on top in the second half, scoring two goals quickly to close the margin. But even with their better play, they were unable to stop Team India from scoring two more goals before the final horn, guaranteeing a resounding win and a trip to the championship game.
Salim was the team’s standout, scoring five goals, with Chaitania and Arsalan coming in second and third, respectively.
Ladiya scored two goals for Team UK, with Felicity and Leo Stuart providing strong assistance.
Team India and Team Germany engaged in a fierce and thrilling fight in the Telangana Tourism Cup final league game earlier on day three of the event, with Team India defeating Germany 6–5. In a different match, France defeated the United Kingdom with a decisive score of 10–5.
Team India began the fourth day of the competition with a one-goal deficit, which set the scene for a fiercely contested match that went right up to the end. With three important goals and strong assistance from teammates Arsalan and Lt. Col. Vishal Chauhan, Salim Azmi was India’s outstanding player.
By scoring all five of his team’s goals, Roman Darroux, on the other hand, was the inspiration behind Team Germany.
Up to the very end, the game was close, but Team India was able to protect their advantage and win it with a crucial goal in the closing seconds. The intense battle held the attention of onlookers till the very end.
The Telangana Tourism Cup’s last day of league play began with an exciting match between Team France and Team UK that had fans on the edge of their seats with goals aplenty.
The game moved quickly, and in only two chukkers, an amazing 15 goals were scored. The French polo team was in complete control of the contest from the start. Come Dubais, who scored seven of France’s ten goals, was the most impressive player.
Team UK put up an incredible display in spite of their defeat, ensuring that the match remained fiercely close and thrilling. It was one of those games when everyone watching was completely engrossed in the action and the intensity of the contest.
The World Arena Polo Championship is being hosted in Hyderabad Polo Riding Club in Aziznagar, where seven international teams—France, Germany, Ireland, Spain, Luxembourg, the United Kingdom, and the United States—as well as two Indian teams are competing for the title.
The Telangana Tourism Cup, the AMR Cup, and the Galaxy Cup are the three divisions in which the tournament is competed.
Furthermore, HPRC is holding a few unique exhibition bouts. They include the HPRC Cup before the Telangana Tourism Cup finals, an international women’s arena polo match just before the Galaxy Cup final, and a “Best of the best” match before the AMR Cup final.
The last day on March 2 will also include a fashion display.
