Four-Day Public Holiday: In observance of Holi and Holika Dahan, Uttar Pradesh will get four days off in a row. All of the state’s government offices, banks, and schools will be closed during this time. The Uttar Pradesh government’s calendar aligns with these holidays.
Dates of Holidays
The Uttar Pradesh government calendar states that Holika Dahan falls on Thursday, March 13, and Holi falls on Friday, March 14. The weekend on March 15 (Saturday) and March 16 (Sunday) will come after this. The Saturday, March 15 holiday, however, is subject to the regulations of each particular organization.
Offices and Schools Will Stay Closed
On these days, all government offices, universities, and schools will be closed. The day before Holi, Holika Dahan, will also be a holiday. Additionally, banks will be closed for four days in a row. Monday, March 17, will mark the return of bank operations.
An additional three-day holiday Twelve Days Later
Following the March 17 holiday, there will be another three-day holiday in March. March 31 (Monday) will be an official holiday for Eid-ul-Fitr, while March 29 (Saturday) and March 30 (Sunday) are the regular weekend vacations.
