As part of its ongoing squad reinforcement efforts, Besiktas has set its sights on two high-profile targets:

Norwegian winger Andreas Schjelderup from Benfica and Argentine defender Nicolas Tagliafico from Lyon. Head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is determined to bring both players to Türkiye, with transfer negotiations underway.

Schjelderup on Besiktas's Radar

Having prioritized young talents in the winter transfer window by signing Keny Arroyo, 19, and Elan Ricardo, 21, Besiktas is now eyeing 20-year-old Andreas Schjelderup as its next major signing.

The Norwegian winger, capable of playing on both flanks as well as in an attacking midfield role, is highly regarded by Solskjaer, who is keen to work with his fellow countryman.

Schjelderup, currently under contract with Benfica until 2028, joined the Portuguese club from Nordsjaelland for 9 million euros two years ago. This season, he has featured in 22 matches, scoring 3 goals and providing 4 assists in 797 minutes on the pitch.

Reports indicate that Schjelderup is open to a reunion with Solskjaer, increasing the likelihood of a summer transfer to Besiktas.

In addition to Schjelderup, Besiktas has rekindled its interest in Nicolas Tagliafico. The club had previously pursued the World Cup-winning left-back, but negotiations did not materialize at the time.

However, with Solskjaer now at the helm, the Argentine defender appears more receptive to the move.

Tagliafico, whose contract with Lyon expires at the end of the season, has publicly stated his desire to continue playing in Europe rather than returning to Argentina. The 32-year-old defender has made 21 appearances this season, contributing 3 goals and 1 assist.

His experience and versatility—being able to play both as a left-back and center-back—make him an attractive target for Besiktas as it looks to bolster its defensive options.

Besiktas aiming for a stronger squad

With Solskjaer overseeing the squad rebuild, Besiktas is committed to strengthening its roster by blending young talents with experienced stars. As the club prepares for next season, it aims to be a serious contender in both the Super Lig and European competitions.
