Author and former actor Twinkle Khanna recently visited Kolkata and gave her followers a glimpse of the city in its most candid state through an Instagram reel. From the idol-makers of Kumartuli to heritage buildings, churches, and fresh lobsters, her reel captured the diverse charm of the City of Joy .

Sharing her experience on social media, Twinkle wrote, “A quick visit to Kolkata for two talks and I was fortunate enough to squeeze in a stop at Kumartuli, where artisans craft stunning idols for Durga Puja. I picked up some delicate shola decorations and listened to stories about the potters who have been perfecting this art for generations.”

Her visit wasn’t all work – she also made time for some of the city's finest offerings, including a visit to Sienna Café for lunch before indulging in handcrafted saris and treasures at Byloom.

The reel, which showcased Kolkata’s vibrant mix of tradition and modernity, resonated with many of her followers, who appreciated the unscripted look at the city’s everyday beauty.
