Fenerbahce has released cultural guidance for Rangers fans traveling to Istanbul for their upcoming UEFA Europa League round of 16 match at Ulker Stadyumu Fenerbahce Şukru Saracoglu Stadium, acknowledging the fixture coincides with the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.

In an official announcement shared on social media, the Turkish club provided specific recommendations to help visiting Scottish supporters respect local customs during their stay.

“Our visit coincides with Ramadan,” Fenerbahce stated in its guidance to Rangers fans. The club outlined several considerations for visitors, emphasizing cultural sensitivity during the religious period.

The guidelines specifically advised supporters to “avoid eating, drinking, smoking, or chewing gum in public during daylight hours.” Additionally, visiting fans were asked to “avoid swearing in public” while in Turkey.

Fenerbahce advanced to the Europa League round of 16 after defeating Anderlecht 3-0 at home and drawing 2-2 away in the play-off round. The upcoming fixture adds interest as Rangers defender Ridvan Yilmaz, who transferred from Besiktas in 2022, will face a club from his home country.
