New Delhi: A new shake-up is anticipated in the Pakistan cricket scene with potential firings and new appointments on the horizon following the national teams poor showing in the ICC Champions Trophy. Pakistan was knocked out of the tournament without securing any victories suffering losses to New Zealand and India and experiencing a rain-affected match against Bangladesh resulting in only one point earned by Mohammad Rizwans team.
Alterations in the selection committee coaching staff and team personnel are expected but dramatic moments occurred in the DP World Dressing Room after a fan proposed that a foreign individual be appointed as the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
Its the sort of position which invites a lot of attention. Press Conferences everyday I doubt the board would be open to getting a foreign name onboard for the chairmans role Wasim Akram said as the question was posed by a fan on the platform Wasim Akram said in response to the question highlighting why a foreign face is unlikely to take up the role.
Waqar Younis gestured towards Ajay Jadeja suggesting that he is an outsider. The former Indian cricketer responded with a memorable remark.
Wasim bhai ke bacche hain mere bhi hain (Wasim Akram has kids I do to...) Jadeja said before breaking into laughter. Akram had earlier said that he cant take up such a role in the Pakistan team as he wants to remain closer to his family.
The job has two aspects to it the administrative aspect and the sporting aspect. They can be separated. Fans and the public arent interested in how much profit the board made the stadiums developed. Fans and future players want to see how their cricket will develop Jadeja further said.
Jadeja has been in Pakistan recently engaging with prominent figures in the countrys cricket as a commentator for the Champions Trophy. Although the Pakistan team has been knocked out of the tournament India has secured a spot in the semi-finals.
