Even though it took more than two months to release this result, the candidates will get the benefit of it. Actually, UPPSC has increased the number of vacancies not one or two times but four times. When the commission sought applications for UP PCS Recruitment 2024 on January 1 last year, the number of vacancies was 220, but when the result of the prelims was released, the number of vacancies was stated to be 947.

The exam was delayed by 10 months

A total of 2,43,111 candidates appeared in the first session exam and 2,41,359 candidates appeared in the second session exam. The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission had earlier decided to conduct this exam in two days, but after that the students created a ruckus alleging arbitrariness in the name of normalization.

This uproar continued for several months. During this time, the candidates also sat on a dharna and demanded that the exam be conducted in a single day. Finally, the commission had to bow down and it was decided to conduct the exam in a single day. Then the prelims exam was organized on 22 December, but due to the new rules (normalization) of UPPSC and the protests of the candidates, this exam got delayed by 10 months.
