Farah Naaz is the elder sister of actress Tabu and the niece of the legendary actress Shabana Azmi. At the age of 17 she made her acting debut in Yash Chopras Faasle which failed to make an impact both commercially as well as critically. Despite her flop debut she captivated audiences with her stunning looks and terrific acting skills leading to several offers from filmmakers.
Over the years Farah starred in a series of successful films including Imaandaar Marte Dam Tak Who Phir Aayegi Yateem Baap Numbri Beta Dus Numbri Begunaah Sautela Bhai Pati Patni Aur Tawaif Khuda Gawah and Amar Prem. She also starred alongside superstars like Rajesh Khanna Dharmendra Rishi Kapoor Vinod Khanna Mithun Chakraborty and more.
On the personal front Farah got married into a Punjabi family as she tied the knot with Vindu Dara Singh who was the son of legendary Indian wrestler and actor Dara Singh. The duo first met on a movie shoot and their friendship soon blossomed into love. After six of years of marriage the couple parted ways in 2002.
Once in an interview Vindu mentioned that their spilt wasnt due to a single factor but rather a culmination of various issues that built up over time. According to a report by TOI Vindu revealed that his ex-wife after going for Hajj which is an Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca turned into a completely different woman and became more religious which started affecting their relationship. He also revealed that following their divorce Farah prevented him from meeting their son Fateh for six months. Despite initial challenges Vindu expressed that they both continue to care for each other and now there is no animosity between them.
In 2006 Vindu got remarried to Russian model Dina Umarova with whom he has a daughter Amelia Randhawa. Farah had her second marriage with the actor Summet Saigal in 2003. The couple now owns and manages Sumeet Arts the production and distribution company that produces Hindi dubbed versions of South Indian films.
