New Delhi: Indian skipper Rohit Sharma has had a solid if not spectacular outing in the ICC Champions Trophy so far. While he is yet to convert his starts into a big score his aggressive approach at the top has provided India with strong foundations early in the innings. After a challenging phase in Test cricket the return to ODIs seems to have reignited Rohits rhythm and a significant knock appears to be just around the corner.
As he continues to lead India in the tournament Rohit is also on the verge of a major milestone in ODI cricket. The star opener is just 68 runs away from surpassing the legendary Sachin Tendulkar in the list of most runs as an Indian captain in ODIs. Currently placed seventh Rohit has amassed 2387 runs in 53 matches at an impressive average of 53.04 and a strike rate of 113.18 including five centuries and 16 fifties. In comparison Tendulkar accumulated 2454 runs in 73 matches as captain averaging 37.75 with six hundreds and 12 fifties.
