Attention! No Fuel for 15-Year-Old Vehicles from April 1 – Delhi Government's Big Decision
To curb rising air pollution in Delhi, the government has taken a major step. From March 31, 2025, petrol and diesel will no longer be available for vehicles older than 15 years. Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa announced this strict regulation.
New Rule Effective from April 1
- 15-year-old vehicles will not be allowed to refuel at petrol pumps.
- The government will install gadgets at fuel stations to identify such vehicles.
- A special task force will be formed to enforce this rule.
Existing Restrictions in Delhi
- Diesel vehicles older than 10 years and petrol vehicles older than 15 years are already banned.
- A 2021 order states that violating vehicles will be seized and scrapped after January 1, 2022.
Strict Monitoring of Heavy Vehicles
- From April 1, heavy vehicles entering Delhi will be strictly checked.
- Authorities will ensure compliance with environmental standards.
Anti-Smog Guns Made Mandatory
- High-rise buildings, hotels, and commercial complexes in Delhi must install anti-smog guns.
- This rule will also apply to Delhi Airport, construction sites, and large office complexes.
Shift from Fuel to Electric Transport
- By December 2025, 90% of CNG buses in Delhi will be replaced with electric buses.
Conclusion
This strict action by the Delhi government aims to reduce pollution and promote green energy. Violating the rule after April 1 will result in severe penalties, so vehicle owners are advised to take necessary steps in time.
